Dressing Mirror
Woodworker: Arthur W. Keenan
Keenan wanted to learn how to veneer curves, so he made this dressing mirror (13-1⁄2 in. deep by 21 in. wide by 30 in. tall) while a student at the Furniture Institute of Massachusetts. It is a copy of a Samuel McIntire piece and is made of Eastern white pine and covered with African mahogany crotch veneer. Keenan also wanted to expand his carving abilities, and the mirror stands gave him the opportunity. The finish is French polish.
