Chippendale Chest on Chest
Reproduction of circa 1780 Chippendale cherry Bonnet-Top chest-on-chest owned by C.L. Prickett, antiques dealer. My wife and I saw the piece at the Philadelphia antiques show in 2010 and loved its proportions and the unique fan carving. I was allowed to photograph and measure the original and created all the moldings by hand carving and molding planes. A nearly identical chest (but in tiger maple) is in the Winterthur collection. I used a shellac finish and Londonderry brasses.

Jeff - Fantastic job! Would love that piece in my collection.
Great job, do you have a copy of the plans that you can share?
Man ! That is nice. Couldn't be better.
I am really enjoying the fan and how well you carved it.
The reeding/beading and how one is echoed in the other up near the top is a fine thing to experience.
Good job on the visual aspect of selection and use of the grain.
From design you found to wood, craftsmanship and traditional finish you sure brought it all together.
