Cradle for Nola
This is one of the first projects I made for some friends. The legs are connected to the post with sliding dovetails as are the rails to the cradle frame. I used heavy duty metal bearings for the swing action and I’m very impressed with how quiet it sounds when swinging. The frames are held together with ready rod And all the holes are covered with blood wood hearts. i use maple and walnut for the main woods and finished it with Danish oil.

Great looking cradle!
Thanks DL!
I think Ms. Nola is a very fortunate young lady, as are her parents. She has a beautiful and comfortable cradle for herself and for her dolls later on, perhaps.
Building projects for special little people is a wonderful thing and this is a wonderful piece of work. It is a beautiful, functional and memorable gift.
Well done!
