"the flower" is the latest in a progression of segmented turnings I've made the last few years...I try to "raise the bar" with each project I attempt...This one is a real sweetheart...I threw out any attempt at function,focusing on the art..
With this object I assembled a twelve segment bowl with paper seams dividing the segments..after turning the bowl I disassembled it at the paper seams…Then I reversed each segment and cut new miters ,creating two six-sided petal groups that fit inside one another…I then assembled and turned a centerpiece mosaic to finish off the flower
