Baby Changing Table- Cherry
I am a novice woodworker, but built a 10×16 shed dedicated to woodworking and housing my tools a year ago, and have spent a large portion of my free time trying to learn new woodworking techniques.
This is a baby changing table/dresser that I made for good friends of mine expecting their first child. It’s made of Cherry, and this is my first foray into using wood that isn’t readily available at the big box stores. The finish is satin lacquer, and decided against paste wax since the MinWax brand that I bought is NOT safe for babies/toddlers. There is a pull out side table, 3 adjustable shelves in the cupboard, and 4 drawers that I mounted using under-drawer metal slides. If I did it again, I’d spend a bit more time trying to learn to make all wood drawer slides. The drawers are made using half blind dovetails that I made using a jig.

Nicely done. This will be used and treasured for a long, long time.
