Little People
My granddaughter, age 6, was visiting and wanted us to make something together in my workshop. Of course she wanted it all to happen instantly. I just wanted it to happen safely. So I put a piece of scrap in my lathe and hoped an idea would arrive. We ended up turning a little man, and she could participate by sanding him (with lathe slowed down and spin direction reversed). Then she colored him in with markers. He was pretty crude (rough body shape, dowel arms), so after she went home I decided to try again and ended up with a little family. Mom and dad even have thumbs, sort of.
