Split top roubo workbench
Just completed the summer project… Split top Roubo.
This project was a lot of work and is the biggest project I have tackled to date. I am fortunate to have stumbled onto a local woodshop that teaches classes – GNA Woodworks. Dante Dilanni is the master woodworker there and really has a passion and patience for teaching woodworking. The bench is Hard Maple and Walnut. It is 7’6″ x 24″. The top is a solid 4″ thick. The hardware (Pinless Leg Vise and Wagon Vise) are from Maquire in england (theenglishwoodworker). The quality and service were top notch, they helped me with any and all questions and were wonderful to work with. Building the bench, I started from Thewoodwhisperer plans to get a good idea on dimensions and layout, but I quickly adapted it and was going from scratch as I used the Maquire hardware. I especially liked the process to create square pegs in round holes on the mortise and tenons on the legs. The Walnut highlighting was my idea and I think it creates a nice contrast to the bench. Hope you enjoy, Thank you,

This is beautiful, well done.
It'sa shame to use it.
That looks like a very useful bench. I like the look of maple and walnut together as well.
Brilliant!
