Storage Box for Dremel and Accessories
Woodworker: Patrick Sullivan
Sullivan uses his cordless Dremel for inlay, metal work, small repairs, marquetry, and other odd jobs. Before making this storage box, he kept the tool and its many attachments and bits jumbled together in the same case. This box gives every bit and accessory a home, and they’re easy to remove and replace. The box is quartersawn walnut with simple rabbeted corners and floating panels in the top and bottom. The bits are held in place with 1⁄8-in. rare-earth magnets. Sullivan took care to ensure that the polarity on every magnet was oriented the same way. One at a time, he used a toothpick to add a drop of epoxy to each hole, then used a 4d finish nail to set the magnet. The finish is wipe-on polyurethane.

Wow, what a really neat and organized toolbox as compared to my disorderly storage box. Not only will this be a pleasure to look at and not an eyesore anymore, but it will also allow such easy retrieval of even the littlest tool bit. I think it will definitely make a good gift for our fathers who are such an ardent woodworker but just cannot seem to find the perfect storage box for their tools and accessories. On a side note, it is a great gift for yourself too.
how do I get plans for this?
