Danish-Inspired Teak Chair
Woodworker: Meredith Nicole
This teak chair is Nicole’s first chair. For inspiration, she studied a chair by mid-century Danish designer Finn Juhl, which had beautifully shaped armrests. She incorporated that elegant shape into this chair, sculpting the rails and all the parts by hand. Juhl’s original used cross stretchers and dowels in the construction, but Nicole eliminated them in favor of haunched mortise-and-tenon joints for the front and side stretchers. The chair is 24-1⁄4 in. deep by 24 in. wide by 32-3⁄4 in. tall.

Beautiful chair, I especially like the shape of the arm rests.
Great job, Mike
