Heavy Timber (Gary Knox Bennett Design) Trestle Table
This is my version of a design by Gary Knox Bennett. I used Englemann spruce for the top, legs, feet and feet.Which came from the same timber that our log home was cut. The top is 3″ thick while the feet are 6″ thick. The strecher is made from Cherry. Gary asked for pictures if someone built one so here they are.Your magazine is the best,I can’t wait for it to get here everyother month.Keep up the awesome job! I get so many tips and projects. Thanks again , Rob LeMoyne

Beautiful!!
You could park a tank on that table.
Great craftsmanship.
This is fantastic! I loved the original Garry Bennett design but though that the table top looked thin when compared to the hefty legs and stretcher. I also think that your breadboard ends and integrated dove-tale cleats are more true to form and your use of pegs instead of screws is great. Is the knob at the bottom of the wedge decorative or does it serve a purpose like holding the wedge inside the dowel?
