We are blessed with a large family and many brilliant , active grandchildren. To encourage healthy outdoors play I decided to make a toboggan, which evolved into seven toboggans. 5 about 4ft long, 1 at 6 ft long, and 1 at 7 ft. Made from local Manitoba green ash, and white oak which we harvest and air dry sustainably, in small quantities. The longest toboggan is made from Manitoba white oak. Finished with Minwax spar varnish and waxed. We have built a slide ( more of a luge run)in our yard and the toboggans are very popular and fast! Very easy and fun to make actually. Maybe snowboards and skis next!
