This 30 note movement plays the Blue Danube
Family friends from my home town gave me a block of walnut from the tree they cut down in their front yard. This was from the black walnut stump just below where the Amerian walnut trunk had been grafted on. I hopefully returned the favor by gifting them this little music box made from the wood of their tree.
Rabbit groove joints were used on the box. Curved corners serve to mask the end grain.

I started out trying to use my little jointer and planer but ended up just using hand planes.
