Holding a Wynn Filter on a Harbor Freight Dust Collector
Instead of using plywood rings and internal bolting or clamps to hold the Wynn Invironmental filter on my HF dust collector I drilled 4 equally spaced holes around about 1/2″ below the upper portion of the dust collector rim. I cut a circle from some 1/2″ fiberboard with a diameter about 4 inches larger than the diameter of the filter and drilled 4 holes in the fiberboard matching the holes in the collector rim. Then I took 4 lengths of 1/4″ all thread rod, bent a 1″ hook on one end of each and stuck the hook through the hole in the rim. Placed some 3/4″x 3/4″ rubber weatherstripping around the bottom of lower rim of the filter. Placed the filter in the dust collector rim, placed the fiborboard circle on top of the filter and fished the four rods through the holes in the fiberboard. Placed washers and wingnuts on the rods and tightened them down. Works great with no air leaks and makes it easy to take the filter off for cleaning.
