Maloof inspired Low Back Chair
A Lot of my pieces of work are inspired by the great Sam Maloof, this is no exception. The seat and highlights are curly maple while the legs arms and backrest are in African Mahogany. Joinery includes originaly maloof leg to seat joint, while the arm to leg joint are through wedged tenons. I have done this chair in many wood configurations, and i have to say this is definitely one of my favorites.

Nice work Jos. The only thing I'd like to see if you make another one is the back leg to be more graceful at the bottom and not so bulky. Superb craftsmanship, and interesting wood combination.
Nice piece Joe!! I went to your web site and thought you really had a nice variety of work and all were beautiful. I love your wood combinations and grain selection.
I liked your Hawaiian credenza and liked your low back chair without knowing you made both. You do very impressive and distinctive work and it stands out. I love the way you join the arms of the chairs and the way you intermingle woods.
