Woodworker: Les Cizek

Cizek’s turned hollow form (9 in. dia. by 3 in. tall) as awarded Best Turning and is one in a series of 12. It’s fashioned from a piece of redwood burl with contrasting ebony at the opening. Cizek finished the form with Liberon oil.
 
The Sonoma County Woodworkers Association recently hosted its 34th annual Artistry in Wood show at the Sonoma County Museum in Santa Rosa, Calif. Thirty-one woodworkers from all over California brought 57 entries including furniture, turnings, art pieces, and instruments to the monthlong, juried exhibition, visited by more than 3,000 patrons.
