Maloof Inspired Bench

For a long time I wanted to use Sam Maloof’s unique joinery and this WO project for my friend presented that opportunity. The seat cushion is inspired by Kevin Rodel’s Praire Sofa. The overall dimensions are 40″L, 20″W, 20″H. The seat bench is at 14″ from ground and accommodates a 3 inch seat cushion. This is my first attempt at carving and sculpting wood at or near joints. The result is not perfect but the bench is strong and I have gained valuable experience that I can use for my next project.
