Can someone tell me what kind of plane I have here?
I have been buying and selling hand planes on eBay recently. I have been buying them, tuning and sharpening, then reposting them. So when I came across what was said to be a Stanley #5 I jumped on it. It was in decent shape and looked likea good Stanley. The pictures and description even fooled my experienced mentor. But I recently got the plane and took it apart and could not find a Stanley logo anywhere. I looked on the blade and faintly could see “Hercules Sargent & Co. Made in USA.” There is also a “B” cast into the bed underneath the tote spot and a matching “B” on the bottom of the frog and on the yoke; also No 5 is cast into the bed on the farthest part of the toe.
If anyone can tell me the worth or history of this plane I will greatly appreciate it. I will try and upload some photos, we’ll see how they come out. Thanks.

Good luck.
Thanks for the link, the issue is I have already looked there. And although there is a lot of plane numbers on there, I don't see a number 5 anywhere. That's why I'm so confused.
Could it be a Stanley #5 ca. 1950's with a Sargent blade in it?
sorry i cant help
