Welsh Hutch

Updated classical Welsh Hutch design made of ebonized maple with an American walnut top and a contrasting Habanero stained, beaded board back. The base is supported by octagonal, fluted legs and top is crowned with shopmade cove molding. The ebonizing agent is alcohol based leather dye diluted 2:1, which provides excellent coloration and deep penetration. The piece is finished with multiple coats of satin poly.

Beautiful. How did you join the shelf to the legs?

U-42, thanks for the comment and sorry about the delayed response. The 7/8" thick shelf is contoured to the octagonal fluted legs and joined with 3/8" hardwood dowels.
