My daughter asked me if I could build a toy box shaped like a train engine. I looked all over the internet for some plans or even examples that I might be able to use as a design model. I did’nt find anything that really looked like what I wanted. I wanted my grandson to be able to actually use the cab area and not simply have it as a board painted on the front to look like a train cab. It took me a while but I finally came up with a design on my own that I liked. This was only my second project so I really didnt know much of anything about woodworking. It took me probably 2 months to build it, but by the time I had finished I was hooked. The only bad thing that I didnt really consider when I made this was that my daughters whole house is only 864 square feet. LOL This toy box is almost 5 ft long and 2 feet wide. Pretty much a piece of furniture but it does get used and my grandson and now his younger brother both play in it. As you can see it made for a nice Halloween prop for my grandsons costume .
