Massive Mallet

My store bought mallet finally met it’s demise so I sifted through the scrap and happened upon some sturdy 8/4 Maple and Walnut. I chose a very simple design utilizing a wedged tenon through a mortise which was dado’ed prior to lamination and glued up all at once. The head measure 6″x4″x4″ and the total length is 13″. I was in a hurry to finish my dovetail cleaning on the actual project I was working on and did not contour the handle, so I plan on making another with more thought and time.
