Six Drawer Chest
This six drawer chest is a “Tommy Mac” project which it’s objective was to hone handtool skills. No Machine work. It is assembled by way of six different methods of joinery. It’s made of sappelle & maple. The drawers are lined by using a “flocker” and polyester fibers. I finished it with nine coats of lacquer and hand rubbed it to a glass like finish. The hardware is solid brass from England. I have to admit that doing this project with handtools only gave me a different sense of satisfation. The dimensions of the chest are 28″x15″x14″.

Nice work good attention to detail.
Very Nice Work!! I love it!!!
"The hardware is solid brass from England." Did you travel to England to acquire the hardware? If you found it online, could you share the link?
Thanks,
Henry
I like your contrasting woods. Did you stain/enhance the color of the sappelle? I'm working on a dining table and the customer wants two species, oak and cherry in the top. My issue is they want the cherry to match the deep red color of their cabinets. I cant stain the cherry because it would bleed into the oak. I see you achieved a deep red color with the sappelle and I'm wondering how you did it.
Amazing! I am also wondering how you achieved the deep rich color on the sapele wood?
I know I could build that...................If I had the patience of Job.
Which I don't.
Great job.
