A cherry reception desk commisioned by Limelight Music Academy of Cornwall Ontario. The desk features large raised panels with fluted stiles, solid ogee brackets for top support and a well equipped workstation with storage cabinetry at the back section. The finish is penetrating stain with a sprayed on Polyurethane build of 5 coats. The first 2 coats were tinted slightly with the same oil stain used to eliminate any blotching the cherry underwent. This also adds some depth of colour. The transaction countertop has an additional 3 coats for wear resistance. The desk is eight years old and still shows beautifully, with an avergage of 200 students and parents a week making transactions or just shooting the breeze.
