This is the Shaker Six Drawer Chest constructed of solid cherry. I designed this project using many of Christian Becksvoort’s technique articles in Fine Woodworking. This case features Hand Cut through and half blind dovetails, telescoping web frames with mortise and tenon joinery,a solid frame and panel back, drawers constructed of half blind dovetails at the front and through dovetails at the back of each drawer box, and the most rewarding part of the project, the Tried and True Varnish Oil recipe which is Danish Oil for the first coat, and three coats to follow of Tried and True Varnish Oil with a mixture of Spar Varnish. It was a very rewarding project and it took my skill set to the next level.
