Steamer Chest for Doll Clothing
The front panels are bookmatched on each of two matching chests.
When our oldest granddaughter was eight years old, we took her to a doll store where she picked out a doll made especially for her and “adopted” it. Of course, with the doll came the inevitable accessories.
I built two of these chests to hold doll clothing and travel accessories for her doll. They are made of Sapele with contrasting sapwood in the board, fitted with brass trunk hardware, and lined with cloth in a color favorerd by my granddaughter.
The chests are finished with 6 coats of oil for duarability during ocean voyages.

The drawers and clothes hanging compartment are lined with cloth. The lidded compartment in the right side of the chest is faced and lined with the same cloth.
