Wabi Sabi
A little Wabi Sabi cabinet made from Black Walnut, English Brown Oak, Port Orford Cedar, spalted Birch and Maple. The cabinet is made to hold a bottle of wine, or a special item. The cabinet is built out of square, a technique Jim Krenov refered to as ” let-go”. Later a drawer is planed to fit; if done right the let-go pinches the drawer at the end of its run. Usual Krenov accoutrements, coopered doors, hand planed surfaces, spring loaded door catches and door levelers. A very fun build, story sticked with no tape measure used.
Finished in shellac and wax.

Well done!
Not measuring...I think the freest designs and the best in hand tool use come from not measuring. Nicely done...I like this piece a lot.
