Glass Dome Wooden Clock
This is my latest wooden clock, which uses a Verge & foliot escapement. The clock is made from cherry wood and covered with a glass dome. The clock is powered by a small electric motor with it’s power supply and battery back-up housed in the base of the clock

Very nice. I'd love to get plans for this or at least find out how to drive the clock with a motor. One drawback to other wooden clocks I've seen is that they need to be wound everyday.
This would make a great article for the magazine.
Hi Paul,
I was wondering whether you would be so kind as to tell me whether or not you used a normal small battery powered motor. I am having trouble getting the speed right with the motors I bought for a similar project. The advice I mainly get is to use a arduino board (small programmable computer to control the clock).
You have found a far more elegant and smaller solution. I would very much appreciate it, if you could let me know what motor you used. Maybe you could use the comment section here, in case you don't have access to my email.
Anyway, your clock is lovely to behold. The wood looks very smooth and your gears are very well cut (something I am still struggling with).
