Finally, my four Fortune Garden chairs are finished. As others have pointed out, this is a lot of work, and difficult at times. With four chairs I have sawed over 200 plies and glued 40 laminations. But it feels great as they’re finished!

I have made a few minor adjustments. I am not a fan of plugged screws so I screwed all the slats from behind/underneath, adding a batten to the leg and back support. 

The circular cutout in the front strecher is a very nice detail in mr. Fortune’s design, and so is the very nice curve on the upper back slat. I wanted to emphasise these details even further and did that with ebony (see photos).
