Contemporary Style Murphy Bed

The murphy bed shown closed with the unobstructed face and clean lines.
This is a murphy bed that I designed and built. The face has a real clean look to it. I moved the pull to the top to even clear up the face even more. That handle has an “L” shape to it so I had to groov out behind the face to make it work.
Another think I changed up was to triple the thickness of the vetical to match the 2 1/4″ tall header. The middle layer of plywood was not solid. I just framed it out around the edges.
It is a queen size, using maple wood with just a clear coat of lacquer only.
