Wooden do-all board
As a person able or employed to do occasional domestic repairs and minor renovations I rarely have odd jobs like this one, which are actually enjoyable and fun. With built and wall mounted this one as a part of a handyman housing care service initiative for a local preschool in north Croydon. There were a few other carpentry jobs, but I only have photos of this one.
For the project you’ll need a handful of materials. There’s nothing extravagant or hard to find here. You’ll find most of it at your local handyman store – plywood or chipboard, cork cladding or thick cardboard are any other material you feel might work as well as glue, of course a pen, any handyman razor blade or saw will do the trick (it would be way better not to cut it by hand of course). The for the wall mount all you need is a simple 6d nail.
There was a limit for photos, so I did a really simple set collages. The assemblage is really quite simple. Choose and sketch the shape. You can even cut it with a simple padsaw, place the frame, nail or glue it (if glued you better have a proper grip til it dries off), paint or decorate if you feel like it and when done – mount your new do-all board on the wall.
Overall comments – this is a fantastic DIY project, no special handyman skills nor tools required and the best part is children seemed to love it more than I initially expected!
