I built this table for some clients who came to me with a dismantled bookcase that her grandfather had built decades ago out of monkey pod in Hawaii. They asked if I could turn the wood into a piece that they could use in their house. There was not stock thick enough for legs, so I had to laminate thinner stock and I only had small scraps left over after it was done. The drawer box and breadboard end pegs are made of Alaskan birch, the pull is made from sapwood from the monkey pod.
