Trestle Table
I designed the “Trestle Table” to take advantage of the wonderful grain in this figured maple. I kept the design simple but elegant to highlight the wood’s beauty. The edges of the top are tapered to lighten the design.
It measures 42″ x 18″ x 31″.
It features hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery with through tenons and pegs at each end of the lower shelf.
The table is finished with two coats of shellac and eight coats of wipe on polyurethane. Before applying the shellac, I applied a very light red-orange dye to make the grain pop.

I have always liked trestle tables for their simple elegance and structural integrity,
You have built a very nice one.
Great work!
