This glass top table was made with a single wide drawer to display the owner’s award winning art work. The table measures 17″ high x 36″ long x 32″ wide. Made entirely of poplar and spray painted with 3 coats of flat black. The tempered glass insert is 1/4″ thick with beveled edges.

The drawer has a pair of centered runners installed on the drawer bottom which I have found to be the simplest and most trouble free method for pulling/pushing a wide drawer. The runners are less than 1/4″ thick yet they perform trouble free on a single 1 1/4″ wide mating guide. I usually make the runners a minimum of 3/8″ thick, so I was concerned that there would not be enough runner area in contact with the guide. Not to worry. The design works flawlessly and allows for a deeper drawer in a low profile table.
