Shrine Cabinet
This cabinet is 63″ long and 32″ high. It was designed for a client using a design line from a major shrine cabinet in a meditation center. The line was of the major shrine was designed by the founder of the sect and therefore significant to the client. The lighting inside the cabinet is LED controlled by a dimmer. The front clear panel is a special acrylic called Optium Museum Acrylic. The wood is African Mahogany and the inlay is Wenge and Curly Maple. The both top panels, behind the front frame for the lens, are doors, mounted on invisible hinges at the extremes, allow access to the interior. Also the three drawers can be pulled slightly out and a fold up plank can be laid on the drawer sides to create a shelf for water offerings. The finish is six coats of lacquer with sandings between coats, them steel wooled to a smooth satin luster.
