Solid ash workbench
I based my design from a book about workbenches but modified it to suit my space. The overall length is 5 feet by 2 feet deep by 34 inches tall. The top is 3 inches thick. I use a lot of hand tools and wanted to have a very solid and heavy bench that would not rack under the stresses of planing. The legs are trestle style which help with rigidity. The stretchers are bolted on with special bench bolts to make it somewhat easy to move if I need to transport it.

I just completed a workbench like yours, It has a Douglas fir base and a thick ash top. I love my new bench and I know you will love using yours.
Great job!
