Mesquite and Rosewood Blanket Chest
I built the blanket chest for my daughter’s handmade quilt from her grandmother. The design came from the FWW plans: Hickory and Ash Blanket Chest -January 2009. I used mesquite for the framing and top that I cut and milled several years ago and rosewood plywood for the panels. The tray and bottom are unfinished aromatic cedar and there is some turquoise inlay to fill in some of holes in the flame pattern on the front legs. A very rewarding project and an excellent set of plans from FWW.
