Elegant Storage Solution
This project was one I really looked forward to doing and much needed. For the first time in my life (over 6 decades!) I have a free standing, climate controlled woodshop to work in. No more moving the car out or clearing the driveway to do the work. The doors proved to be quite a challenge since the track is between two walls. The hardware is from Stanley and designed for an actual barn or shed rather than an interior application. I tend to not follow directions anyway so had to solve installation problems as they came up. You can read the details in the two blogs written about this project. You’ll need to copy and paste them into your browser, I don’t think they’ll come up as links.

and the other is: https://woodworksbyjohn.com/2017/01/09/sliding-barn-doors-my-way-and-completed/
The drawer unit is strictly utilitarian and it was blogged about in this post: https://woodworksbyjohn.com/2016/12/02/drawer-unit-complete-no-dovetails-here/
The wood is Alder finished with General Finishes Endurovar. If you read the blogs you’ll see how the corrugated metal from Home Depot was burnished to give a more elegant finish. The doors are mortise and tenon construction and the handles function as a center stabilization for the doors. Thanks for looking and hope you like it — John
