The table tops are band sawn sycamore veneers within a walnut, mitered frame. The walnut legs and stretchers are built with traditional mortise and tenon joinery. I sprayed lacquer for the tops, as the ray fleck in sycamore can be diminished with oil applications.
I used Danish oil and polyurethane for the walnut legs and stretchers. I built these as a project for a class at Santa Fe Community College in New Mexico. A special thanks to Bob Mays, who gave me the sycamore slab, and Doug Jones, who instructed the class.
