Living in nature
A Germanic Gothic Catholic Altar I built and designed from elements inside the church my great Uncle designed . It is built out of sugar maple painted and glazed to match the back altar. I call it the challis of love because I put the four holes to represent the four gospels and the dove like figures in front for the holy trinity , the father ,son and holy ghost. The construction is a layering process using 8/4 lumber then 4/4 and final is 5/4for the curved face. Some hand carved wood to add depth. The Altar is my donation to my parents who died one month apart from each other. It has there ashes installed under the altar stone. I donated it to the church my great grandfather built and my great uncle was the Architect on circa 1905. All this and Heaven to.
