Dovetailed Brass and Steel Block Plane

The body of this block plane was created by dovetailing a steel sole plate to brass sides. The cap was fabricated from a solid piece of brass. The plane has a custom fabricated Norris style adjuster which has fine threads for a precise cut adjustment. The plane iron was fabricated from a length of O1 tool steel and was heat treated and tempered to around R62. The infill and iron cap is made from Chechen.
