My wife’s Target cabinet
So with that in mind, I used the exact dimensions of the cabinet at Target and then “ballparked” all the unknowns and got to work. The entire cabinet is made from Walnut and Walnut burl veneer plywood. I did a 4 way match for the top and did single veneer pieces for the sides. The doors were the trickiest part for me since they were inset and I usually use overlay doors so I don’t have to be perfect. The inside has adjustable shelf pins and a single glass shelf. The doors are held closed by rare earth magnets and a catch of my own design. I think I may have gone overboard here (it takes about 8 pounds of force to open the doors). The doors were made using mortise and tenon joinery. The entire thing is finished with oil, dewaxed shellac, and a few thin coats of arm r seal gloss with a wax coat on top for good measure.
