Mesquite End Tables
Mesquite is not widely dispersed, so many readers probably have never seen it before. It is a beautiful wood that is dimensionally stable in all directions. It is a little more brittle than walnut, but works very nice.
I had this chunk of a mesquite trunk and decided to cut it into slabs and the left over wood into boards. I decided to make my son a set of end tables using Arts and Crafts style base with the beautiful live edge mesquite slab. The legs are white oak dyed to match his Morris chairs I made him several years ago. The rest of the table is mesquite varnished and waxed.
