Humidity = Rust
So to save time and effort with removing rust, I made a few simple covers from Masonite. It keeps the moisture off the steel and eliminates a cleaning nightmare! Bandsaw, jointer and even the table saw. The table saw cover adds the benefit of becoming a work area for light work, assemblies, and finishing.

Great idea. How do you keep the material in place?
On the bandsaw just friction. On joInter, the mdf slides under the fence and blade guard. On the table saw, I screwed a piece of 1x2 on each long edge that rides in the groove on the fence guide side and over the opposite edge. Fence comes off.
I have been coating the cleaned surfaces of my shop machines with Johnson's paste wax for a while now and it seems to prevent rust and keeps the surfaces friction free. Just be sure to buff off the wax after applying to keep from transferring to a work piece.
