Scrap wood keepsake box
My employer was having is his basement remodeled to include a lot of solid walnut wainscoting and cabinetry. Near the end of the project he found out that I enjoy woodworking and often make small items that don’t require a lot of material so he offered to give me some of the scraps and off cuts from the project. When I went to pick them up I was surprised at that quantity considering we completely filled the box of my pickup. I decided that I wanted to make him a gift to show my appreciation and this box is the result. It was made entirely out of the walnut scraps, I found a piece with some really nice curl for the lid and used some sapwood for the light accents. The dimensions are roughly 6”x9”x3”.

Great use of someone else's scrap! You have a good eye for design.
Whatever they're paying you is not enough. That's an outstanding piece of work.
