Another variation on the home made hold down
I needed a few hold downs for some router wok I am doing for a cockpit table for my brothers yacht.
I had various options, but I wanted something easy, quick and adaptable to many situations.
There were a few cheap clamps that my kids had bought for me as a Christmas present, that were not much cop as standard clamps.
So I heated the fixed end and tapped the bar free.
Then I drilled and tapped a couple of holes to mount them to the L brackets that I had lying around. Slip an o-ring over each bar so that you can keep the leg from falling down each time you change a workpiece.
These hold downs are very easy to mount to a template, are easy to use and very versatile. Each one took about 20 minutes to make (excluding cooling down time).
