Hans Wegner Dining Table Faithful Reproduction
This table is a faithful reproduction of a Hans Wegner design from 1962. This version is made from solid walnut. It can comfortably seat six and can double as a large desk. Changes were made only to the joinery. The original used bolts to attach the apron to the legs. This design uses no glue or screws where the apron meets the leg. The apron is notched to match a haunch inside the leg. The top of the apron was then notched to receive one of the three cross members. As a benefit of this design, the table can be completely disassembled without any tools. The top is a flat walnut top with no ornamentation except the profile around the outside edge.

Nice! This actually looks just like the table featured in Mario Rodriguez's 2014/FWW #242 article, "Scandinavian Kitchen Table: Pure lines meet powerful joinery in a handsome everyday table." Where he talks about getting permission from the Smithsonian to examine and copy Julia Child's kitchen table. Wonder if Julia Child's kitchen table was in fact a Hans Wegner original?
