Butler’s Desk
Holcombe designed this butler’s desk to fold open when needed and to hide away and “appear part of the scenery” when not in use. He made the piece entirely by hand, even going so far as to make his own hardware because he couldn’t find existing products that suited his needs.

One of the best pieces in the gallery section of this FWW issue. It's a shame they only give space for one view. I would like to see it open and a little more about the hardware.

I agree. It would often be nice to see more than one view of pieces shown in the Gallery. That said, the internet is a great resource. Mr. Holcombe has a very nice website which shows more images of this beautiful desk as well as other pieces he's made.
