277- Desk Inspired by French and American Design
This lady’s desk was inspired by French “bonheur du jour” writing desks and the work of Thomas Sheraton. Gill set out to make a more refined version of the French designs with a nod toward American Federal style. “I like the overall proportions and elegance of the piece,” he said. The desk is made primarily from locally sourced brown oak that he dried in his own kiln.
