277- Matai Heirloom Table
This dining table has strong ties to Gibson’s home in New Zealand and to his family. When Gibson’s father found an old stash of rough-cut matai lumber at a cabinet shop sale in New Zealand, he shipped the native wood to his son in Oregon with instructions to make an heirloom table. “Now completed and seeing daily use, it’s the place for sharing meals, school homework projects, and losing chess games to my 10-year-old,” Gibson said.
