277- Mesquite Slab Cabinet
This cabinet is named “Lou” after the friend who gave Kamerath the mesquite slab for the top and challenged him to make something beautiful. “The wood was gray, weathered, had bark on the edges, and the ends were cut straight. It was unsightly and showed no promise,” Kamerath said. After sanding, though, beautiful burl grain appeared. “I like the unconventional box joints/dovetails in the piece. It’s a subtle difference that mostly goes unnoticed, but I know it’s there.”
