Smith built this cabinet while in his second term at Inside Passage School of Fine Cabinetmaking. “I was looking for a way to hone my newfound skills and push them to the limits,” he says. The coopered door and curved front drawers offered Smith the challenges he had been seeking. This piece won the contributing editors’ award for best craftsmanship.
